August was a difficult month.
There was too much coming and going to the city, there was surgery, there were sewage problems at the beach house and there is an on-going kitchen renovation at the city house.
So among all that I managed to read only one book and "unfortunately" it didn't fit any of the
So little sleeping and so much reading Challenge 2015 categories.
But it was a great book and I so enjoyed it. Matias, the little child who grew up to be an excellent doctor and an amazing perosnality and most of all a special human, accompanied me all through all this difficult month and made me relax and be patient. Because all lives have their difficult phases and we should just live through them.
So don't miss Scenes from the life of Matias Almosino by Isidoros Zourgos, a fellow teacher.

Reading Challenge 2015-February
You can read all about this So little Sleeping and so much Reading challenge here and about the books I read in January.
In Februaty I managed to read only a couple of books (yes indeed only two).
First Naguib Mahfouz' One hour remains (or The Final Hour) in the category of A novel by an African writer. I loved the book. I hope to read more of Mahfouz' books in future.
Although Mahfouz is Egyptian and therefore considered Arab in culture Egypt is in Africa so it was ok.
I got the book from the library as I didn't have any African books at home.
The photo of the book is taken with hubby's Zimbabwean traditional mask. It is a souvenir he brought from Victoria Falls.
The next book I read was a gift from my dear old friend Dora.
It is Jorge Bucay's The road of spirituality. I enjoyed it. I am not sure I became more spiritual though!
Photographed with a stone that has my A from Ariadne letter on! I always look down when I walk roads!
So little sleeping and so much reading chose some photos again to show in their site.
Among 209 mine is there again too! I guess the mask had something to do with it.
A final word. I had thought I couldn't follow such a challenge but here I am and I am really enjoying it!

Reading Challenge 2015-January
I love reading books.Well you know that.
About a year ago I met Giannis in one of the crafty meetings of in my closet and he loves reading books too. Moreover he has got a great book related page called
So little sleeping and so much reading.
You can find it on facebook too. Also on instagram. And on etsy here.
Giannis started a reading challenge for 2015.
At first I thought I shouldn't take part as I read lots of books every year but I mainly read in summer the books I have in my bookcase shelves. So I didn't know if I could keep up with the challenge.
But Giannis' blogpost about the #readathon15 intrigued me so I decided to take part.
I joined in and I have to read at least 24 books in one year that fall into certain categories.
Some categories are simple like "A book you won or borrowed". Others are simply motivating like "A novel by an African writer".
What I really didn't expect was that in just the first month of January I would have finished 6 books!
We also have to take a picture of the books we read and post them on the page.
My photo of one of the books I read was chosen among 350 photos and you can find it in this article.
I am happy I found my motivation in reading every night before I go to bed. Thanks Giannis and So little sleeping and so much reading.
