Old School Bazaar.

Last Sunday's experience made me decide to give it a second try at a bazaar exhibition.
This time it is at Elite cafe at Navarino Square on Saturday 16th from 12 at noon till 9 in the evening. There is a second day too but I can't do it the whole weekend. There will also be a clothes exchange and the theme of the bazaar is old school days! If it school I have to be there, right? I wonder how I should dress up!
Anyway for my local friends if you happen to be in the area I will be glad to see you.
Some of the things I will be exhibiting.

Summer 2013-felted stones (2) and more

So more felted stones happened in summer and were decorated one by one patiently during my morning relaxing sessions.
Here is what else came out of my hands.
I decided I wanted to do what I do with the felted stones on another item so I used a base for a stitched felted piece with sea glass and beads and came out with this piece of jewelry-art!

Doesn't it look lovely with the felted stones?
And then I made another one.
And then I stitched "the SEA" on another one.

I made this small stone which went to a cross stitch exchange to Kay in England.See this post.
Then I made this oval one which will be in the shop soon.
Then I made this pink one with my sister-in-law in mind.
Then I made this one in fall colours. This will be in the shop update soon too.
 Barca always kept me company.
I love them when they are many together.
Then I decided to make one for myself. I felted a huge stone in two colours and added lots of bits and pieces!
 A corner in my bedroom.
 My big piece in detail!

Then I made one more for the shop!
And then one more for my sister-in-law to compliment the pink one. So these two were gifted to Marina.

This one will be in the shop too.
And this was also given as a gift to my next door neighbour at the beach house, the one who made me a painting!
This one I made for my sweet niece Vicky!
 And this for the shop!
Then one day I took my stones to the beach and took pictures of them.

It was early in the morning and not too many people got interested in what I was doing. In fact the tourists didn't even pay much attention.Maybe next summer I should try selling some to them!
Don't they look great on my summer reading too? I loved that book.

Jewelry course (1)

I have to stop thinking about Barca for a while and concentrate on all other things I do or have to do.
Anyway I am so behind with my blog unfortunately.
I will show you some things I have been up to lately.
In November I joined a jewelry course. Although the distance to reach the place where it is being held is rather long, I decided to take it because it was much much cheaper than other courses I had inquired about and it is being held by my friend Irene.
So we meet every Thursday evening for two hours. We are six students attending so it is good to be able to concentrate on what we do and have a good feedback and attention by our tutor.
Here's what I have done so far.
I admit I only deal with this during the lesson and not so much at home. Also I try not to buy new materials and try to use up beads and other things I had collected over the years.Of course I have to buy little bits and pieces and findings all the time. I guess in future I will add handmade jewelry on my etsy shop but it will take some time to do that.
So in November I learnt the techniques and made:
this brooch with wire, beads and soldering in the first lesson.

This pair of earrings with wire and beads and soldering in the second lesson.
This chocker necklace with wire, beads, soldiering and ribbon in the third lesson(so far my best piece made)
This bracelet with wire, beads and a knitting needle in the fourth lesson. I also made one at home (the orange one with the shells)

Then in December we learnt and made:
this necklace with wire and beads.

And this necklace.
And bracelets with makrame weaving style
More of what I have learnt so far in a following post.
The porcelain lace stones are by Paula Valentim of Otchipotchi.

thalasseaglass shop update

I decided to spend some time on my little etsy shop today.
I am an amateur and I am not a qualified artist but I like making things and want to try my hands to all kinds of things.
For the time being I added these three pendants and more will come.
 Lighthouse pendant 2
 Valentine's Day sea glass pendant

The two lighthouse pendants are made with a variety of techniques. First a Greek postage stamp of 1995 was stuck behind the sea glass I collected myself from the beach at my beach house. Then I painted the lighthouse on the sea glass with permanent ink and covered it with matte glaze. Finally I wire wrapped all around it.That's the postage stamp behind the sea glass. It is the Psitalea lighthouse at the entrance of Peiraeus Harbour.

The heart charm sea glass is for Valentine's Day and is wire wrapped with two different kinds of sea glass.
You can find them all and more in my thalasseaglass etsy shop.
