Our trip to the U.S.A.(18)- Acton Public Library

On 7th July we started our morning with a hearty breakfast and then went to various places.
First to Acton Public Library, Old Saybrook.
I loved the amazing mural in the entrance of the library with all the history of the place made by Marion Grebow. You can read about it here.

We walked inside the library a bit. First at the children's library where I was so happy to spot a Greek book at once.
The three little wolves and the Big Bad Pig by Eugene Trivizas.

I also loved this quilt on the corner of the library.
We then proceeded to the rest of the library.
There was a temporary small exhibition of the LEGO made pieces of one of the people of the town.

And there was an exhibition of sculptures too.
I also loved the "Take free books" shelf in the entrance of the library and of course had to take a couple. No wonder my suitcase was so heavy on the flight home.
We promised to go back to the library on their bazaar day!

Our trip to the U.S.A. (16)- An antique store.

After Maynard's Greenhouse we moved to  The Trove, an antique store.
I really saw very beautiful things there but I couldn't buy anything as everything was fragile, heavy or big! What a pity!

This is a children's metal tea set. Gorgeous!

 Carnival glass and depression glass.
Greek antique dishes! I should have brought them home!
A white soup bowl like the one I have. And those little commemorative dishes that I saw in many antique stores, loved, but didn't want to start a new collection with.
 I adored this one!

 No, thank you!
Look at the wolf back there! And look at that tray on the floor. I recently found something like that on the curb but guess who didn't allow me to take it!Cry!

 Loved that painting!
Eye candy all those glass cupboards filled with amazing glassware!

Shocked to see the same little Murano handkerchief bowl that I have! I am glad I saw it cost here much more than the bargain price I got in Greece a couple of years ago! Still it's lovely!

 Murano fish, gorgeous!

There were some art pieces by a lady but I forgot to ask more about them.

You can find The Trove on facebook here and on their page here too. It's really worthwhile visiting this place!
