Easter Treasure Hunt blog hop 2019

Hello everyone and have a great Easter!

Every year Jo of Serendipitous Stitching organizes an Easter treasure hunt blog hop.

What you do is to hop all around the blogs that take part and see the beautiful Easter or Spring stitching they have done. Also if you collect all the letters that each blog gives, you will find a phrase. Go back to Jo's blog and leave a comment with the phrase. You have till Friday May 3rd.

And what Easter/Spring theme stitching do I have to show you? 

Well I finished this blackbird embroidery patchwork design. The blackbird hoop is from the Spring kit by Craftpod which I really loved. I have an annual subscription at craftpod and manage to make most of their crafts. I must say this one is one I really liked very much.

The pattern is from an original painting by Gordy Wright. You can see my finished piece and the painting together.

Now to the letter that I must give you. It is the following.

The letter P is from the fabric book I made last year. My post in the first three months of 2018 show the whole of the alphabet and the book. But it is always a work in progress as I still add things in it.

That means we stitchers who take part in it show what we have stitched Easter or Spring related and we also display a letter. If you hop all around the blogs that take part in this Easter treasure Hunt you will decode the phrase and leave a comment on Jo's blog post.

This whole Treasure Hunt motivates me to stitch Easter themed items like this Easter bunny which I found as a free pattern in the blog The World According to Agi.

I turned it into an ornament. I also stitched the egg from Kathrin's Blog.She gave the pattern for free.I also made that into an ornament.Finally I made a small Mill Hill beaded egg into an ornament too.I had stitched this egg a long time ago but had never finished it.

And here they are decorated in my IKEA tree along with my Metropolitan Museum of Art eggs!

As Spring is here too I must also show you the March bookmark that I also recently finished .This is a Bucilla kit I am stitching as a picture.

For this Easter and as I am trying to use things I have in my craft cupboard I decided to use a packet of styrofoam eggs, two boxes of pins and several boxes of beads(payette) I had got at an exchange.

I made and remade all the eggs until they looked as I wanted them.

As the Orthodox Easter is a week later than the Catholic one I have not yet decorated fully and haven't painted my eggs for this year yet. Therefore this post is not complete.
But I will have to post it today and give you the letter I have so that you can solve the phrase Jo has put.

Easter Treasure Hunt Blog Hop

Jo of Serendipitous Stitching organizes various cross stitch events and challenges in blog land.

At this time of year Jo organizes the Easter Treasure Hunt blog hop.

According to it the participants have to show something they stitched for Easter or Spring.

Then you will see a big beautiful letter. This letter when added to the rest that you will find in the other blogs that are taking part in the blog hop form a mystery phrase that you will have to find and write at Jo's blog in the comment section. Do not reveal the mystery phrase to my blog, only to Jo's comment section.

You will see my letter at the end of this blog post.

First you will see all the cross stitched things that I made this Easter.

I don't usually stitch Easter things or eggs but this year I started early due to an exchange in Kaye's of Kitten Stitching blog and therefore I stitched some for me too.

Here they are.

First the Easter rabbit I stitched for the exchange.The pattern is a freebie from Snowflower Diaries blog.I finished it in felt as a frame.

I also stitched my partner a card. Pattern found on pinterest.

Then I stitched two eggs for me. I found the patterns in my collection of patterns of Cross Stitcher magazine.

 After stitching them I mounted them on felt as ornaments and added a felt butterfly and a wooden flower.

 And as I liked the eggs I made some more. These are smaller and I found them on pinterest as Hama beads patterns. I was thinking of making them as ornaments too like the previous ones but I ended up to frame them as one picture at an IKEA frame.

This Easter  I also stitched this Easter lamb from La Comtesse & Le Point de Croix.

I gave this to a friend as a gift for her contribution as costume designer in a theatrical play.

 For a person who does not stitch at Easter that was quite a lot!
