Summer 2013-the sea

So after sunrise and after playing around with shadows and light usually we took Barca out and we soon realised how great and calm the sea is early in the morning. So we decided to make it a habit to swim early in the morning and away from the harmful sun. Barca spent the time with us under the umbrella, hubby did some fishing and I swam, read books and collected sea glass.
And of course I took photos.The view was fantastic almost every day!

So here we are in September already!
I can't believe how fast this summer went by!
I can't believe there are things I want to blog about not only about summer but since May and even a trip I took earlier in the year!Where does time fly?But I really don't want to be online that long and I don't want to get anxious about blogging. It is supposed to be fun, right?
Anyway we are typically in the beginning of Autumn!
Usually on the first of September teachers go to school but since it is a Sunday we will be going tomorrow.
We wanted to spend this weekend at the beach house but there were storms and lots of rain in the area so we didn't bother!

Here I would like to take the chance to say that unfortunately my son did not succeed at the entrance university exams he sat in May so we will have to see what he will be doing this year.Keep your fingers crossed for the best solution!Lots and lots of students failed the exams as the level of difficulty was too high, really too difficult, especially in Maths, my son's best subject.For some reason I think the Ministry are trying to send students to the private colleges.But we don't have the money for that!Good luck to all students who will be trying again next year and congratulations to all those who managed to enter the University of their choice!
Anyway here I'd also like to wish all the best to all those teachers who are starting school tomorrow.
It will be a difficult school year for Greece!

Summer 2013- shadows and light

So at sunrise I loved playing with my camera taking photos of shadows and light coming in the house.

As I took more than 1000 photos this summer I decided to show them to you according to subject.
So it took me a while but I put each photo in a different file under various categories.
So here we start with sunrise.
That's how my days at the beach house started.
Mind you I will mainly show photos in this and future posts.

Back at last...

So here we are back in the city!
Sorry I have left my very few close friends and readers without blogposts but the Internet connection at the beach house is not fast and blogging was not an option.
Till I upload the hundreds of photos I took this summer I will leave you tonight with some sweet vintage pictures of the months of July and August from that old children's book I had found last Christmas.

I hope you will have a great summer!
Ours is bound to be really hot due to the continuous financial and political crisis, the unemployment and the many problems people are facing in Greece!
Still the blue sea, the open skies, the sun and nature are ours to seek, feel and dream with! For better days!

I won't be blogging much during summer!
I will hopefully swim a lot to get my strength and rhythm back...

... and I will definitely read books!

Here are the 20 books I managed to save all through winter from bazaars, exchanges and second hand bookstores.

I will take lots of pictures to fill lots of blogposts in Autumn!

I hope also to do some cross stitch as Barca didn't allow it in winter. I will add some more felted stones to my collection (whether they will be sold or not!)

Hopefully we will play a lot with Barca!(Here at her first swim!)

And meet friends and relatives!(If people are fortunate enough to have money to spend on travelling!)
Of course I will be spending hours sea glassing!And here I leave you with a picture of what I will probably be looking for all summer!I miss the U!Or something matching!

When roads meet

Happy month of July every one!
As I won't be blogging for some time due to the holidays I wanted to wish you a great summer with this blogpost!
The weekend before last I had the chance to meet with some of my old students.Our roads met again. And while you are reading why don't you listen to this great song?

Those children were my pupils when they were 6th graders and I was only on my second year of the State School sector.
Their school Lianovergi was quite far away from home and I had to take the train or the bus to go there.

That's my class there infront of the school back in 1996.
The little naughty guy in front was the one who found me on facebook and arranged the meeting!

And here we are after 17 years.
Me and hubby (in pink T-shirt) and their class teacher next to me and some of the students. Not all of them could come but hopefully we will meet again soon and maybe more will be able to attend next time.
