Happiness is a gift.........

Tonight we watched a movie...and I say we because, against all odds, both my love and my beloved son stayed up till late and watched the whole of the movie, intermissions and all. It was Nicholas Nickleby. I had read the book as a teenager as most of Charles Dickens' books as he was one of my favourite authors, he still is. We loved the movie, too.
Part of it was supposedly taking place in London and part in Devonshire, one of England's most beautiful countryside counties. (My sea glass friend Ian lives there!).
So much green, beautiful little houses, the atmosphere of poor London, a college that handicaps and punishes severely its students, the mean and the good heroes, all of those characteristics in a movie that attract you to watch it.
My love said I would have loved to live in England at that time. I know that somewhere deep inside me I feel as if I have lived in England in some other life, if such thing exists. Otherwise why do I adore anything English, the language, the literature, the nature of the countryside, everything! Even my blog is in English and it is not my mother tongue. I dream in English, too!
And the movie ended with the words......." Happiness is a gift...." and I felt so happy having the chance to watch this movie with my dear ones! Goodnight!

Yes, happiness is indeed a gift. If we are fortunate enough to untie the ribbon on that gift of happiness with the dawn of each new day, then we can truly smile.
To have the ability to dream in another language has always fascinated and intrigued me. I have a friend whose first language is English yet she, too, can dream in French even though she rarely speaks it.
