Summer 2013-cross stitch

I didn't stitch much this summer. I haven't stitched much this year in general.
I began this half cross stitch printed picture Marabeth sent me from the States. It is Nauset Light, a beautiful old American Lighthouse. When I finish it, it will either be a cushion for the beach house sofa or the sitting part of a chair. But I wonder when I will manage to finish it.
I also stitched for a summer exchange.
Sweet Ingrid of mii stitch organised the exchange and it was my first to take part. It was an international one so I had the chance to exchange with people from around the world. I stitched The Guardians of the Sea, a free pattern by Laura of The Little Stitcher which is my favourite summer sea themed gift to stitch.
The recipient of my stitched piece along with some more gifts was Kay in England who does not have a blog.
I could not finish her mermaids in another way rather than a frame. And I decorated the frame with sea glass and other sea finds.

I also made a tiny felted stone for her. You can find similar felted stones or make a custom order on my etsy shop here.

I added some more gifts, some cross stitch fabric, threads, buttons and beads, a small  cross stitch kit, a hair clip, a fridge magnet and some sea glass and shells. I really enjoyed making this parcel for Kay.

And here is what I got from another lady who took part in the exchange.
Valerie from France of feelepoint blog made a whole strawberry themed parcel for me.
She stitched Strawberry House and finished it into a lovely pouch. She also sent me a lovely card, a strawberry mat, linen DMC threads(I didn't even know about them), ribbon, a packet of napkins and beautiful buttons. All strawberry themed. Thanks very much Valerie.

It was my first cross stitch exchange and I really loved it. I wish I had more time to do cross stitch and take part in exchanges!

I really loved my gifts. The ones you received were beautiful too, strawberries are a big part of summer in England.
