Biennale 4

While waiting for certain things to happen of which I will talk later in  a blog post this week, I took a bit of time away and visited this Biennale 4 of Contemporary Art in my city.It is taking place at Yeni Cami, the old New Mosque in my neighbourhood. It was surprisingly pleasant especially the video installation by Rosana Palazyan from Brazil which showed the story of her Armenian ancestors in embroidery. It was touching.I tried to find more info about her and probably a way to contact her but was unable to. Unfortunately there was no way to take a picture.
I was also impressed by this installation by Gal Weinstein from Israel. It is named Fire Tire and is made out of rubber and cotton.

And there is a photo exhibition too and more video installations. All that in the impressive New Mosque till January the 31st.You can also see other Biennale exhibitions all over the city in other veues. I hope I will see some more soon.

Hubby and I also visited a book exhibition outside the grounds of the International Trade Fair but once again we were disappointed. Although there are thousands of books most are outdated, boring and not the type of books we read.

Here are a couple of photos from the walk at the park we did with the school last week.

Finally a couple of photos from last week's sky that again caused controversy about what we are being sprayed with!

Have a great long weekend!

It's a long weekend for the 28th October 1940 celebration.
Today jets were flying in the sky making aburdly ominous sounds and people were walking at the sea front enjoying the warm weather and looking at ships and a submarine!
Enjoy the weekend!

Summer 2013-the sky

It was a glorious summer weatherwise, just like this Septemeber in the city.

Every time you turned your eyes upwards there was something interesting to see.
And even during the very few rainy cold days....
....there was an amazing rainbow afterwards....
(in fact this one was a double rainbow but too difficult to take a picture of it in its full glory!)

August sea, sun and sky

As I have told you many a time now the weather kept fantastic all through August too and the sea was marvelous! I adored the sunsets as well.
Some sunsets were glorious...

 Some mornings were too...
 Some sunsets looked dark...

Even on a cloudy day there is beauty up above...
 Some sunsets were red....
Some sunsets looked like a shooting star....
Some sunsets included an airplane bonus...
Some mornings you could not tell the sea from the sky....
 Some sunsets were purple....
Some days looked misty and ended up gloriously sunny...

The blue of our flag, our sea,our skies....

Friday the 25th was Independence Day.
We put our flag on its pole and left our rubbish filled neighbourhood for our summer house.
The weather was wonderful.
The sea was fantastic although we did not dare to swim and the sky was so blue,it was breathtaking.
More blogposts will follow of our 24 hours at our summer house.
