Ouzeri Tsitsanis,the movie.

If you plan an evening out to the movies this Christmas don't miss "Ouzeri Tsitsanis".
It is the new movie by Manousos Manousakis.
Here he is being interviewd.
Tsitsanis is played by Andreas Konstandinou, hubby's Godson and we are really proud of him!
Here Andreas with his co-protagonists.
 Andreas with hubby and me.
Hubby and I acted as extras to the movie and you can see me at the first moments of the movie when the titles are shown and hubby a little later!
Here's where I am in the movie.
It's a really good movie about the love affair between a Christian young man and a Jew young woman at the time when the Nazis emptied Thessaloniki of all the Jews. A great story revolving around the little restaurant Tsitsanis, the musician and composer, had at the time in the city centre.Based on George Skabardonis book.
Here the author.
We recently went to the premier.

The smell of the kill.

We had recently booked at the Theatre out of the walls (Theatro exo apo ta tihi) to see
The Smell of the Kill by Michele Lowe with friends and we really loved it. We were laughing for more than an hour. All three actresses were exceptional!
Ladies don't get any ideas...gentlemen just be careful how you behave, I will say no more!
That's the first time we went to this very small cozy theatre at the city centre.
I think the performances end next week so hurry!
You can find more info here.
After the performance we went for a drink at Tabya.
That's a cafe-bar in a beautiful old house. You can walk all around the house and see how they have changed the rooms into a cafe. It will be even more lovely in summer I am sure.
The view from one of the windows.

I really enjoyed my Mastiha Mohito listening to great music from old records.
There was an art exhibition upstairs, interesting sketches by Dimitris Kokoris.
And a suggestion for another interesting theatrical performance.
We will soon see again Project Bacchae.
Andreas Konstantinou, hubby's Godson is starring in this one man show which is exceptional as well. Performances at Black Box theatre. More info here.

Shooting a movie!

Hello dear readers! I know I have become very slow in writing my blogposts but I don't seem to find ever enough time to write it any more! That does not mean that I am planning to stop blogging. I just simply write it whenever I can.
I would like to wish all my friends who celebrate Easter Sunday today to be a very happy one. Ours is next Sunday!
Today I will show you photos from the shootings of a film hubby and I took part in as subs.
It is the film Ouzeri Tsitsanis based on the book with the same title by Yorgos Skabardonis. The film is about the love story of a Jew girl with a Christian man during the World War II. It talks about the extermination of the Jews of Thessaloniki, my city,by Hitler and among all that is the life also of the Greek composer Vasilis Tsitsanis.
There are a lot of great actors and actresses in the film. Tsitsanis is played by hubby's Godson Andreas Konstadinou and the director is Manousos Manousakis.
When it was announced that sub actors are asked to volunteer for the film I sent an e-mail at once. Believe it or not mine was the first out of 10.000 e-mails and messages sent and the person responsible to choose the actors remembered the photos we sent him! Those photos with the map behind our backs!LOL!
Anyway we really wanted to take part in the film because it would be a great experience and so it was indeed! I took part two days (7 and 12 hours of shooting respectively) and hubby took part four days (two more 12-hour shootings).
Here are photos of the shootings.

A new month ...

...started and it is raining for days now! I don't like it at all.
So I prefer remembering last Sunday when in the morning under the sun we had a memorial family service...
...and in the evening we had a lovely walk at the beach with amazing colours....

I made a March bracelet of course, this time with beads...it is supposed to protect your skin from the sun of March!LOL!
This week we met with an old friend of mine.
We also went to the movies and watched "Riverbanks" (Ohthes) the movie where hubby's Godson Andreas Konstandinou is starring. It was good!

I also had coffee with my friends this week. And enjoyed the hyacinths and koulouri,
coffee and quince jelly made by my friend Stella.
We did the usual power walk even in the rain...
... and I still took some photos...
...and we enjoyed coffee with the family! See the blooming tree? Spring is somewhere around the corner!

So that was all about this week! Hope you had a great week friends. And with better weather.
