Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I decided I will not be put down by the fact that after 17 days of holidays(!) I was going back to school today. I take two buses to commute to work and it is a bit tiring. But the advantage of working outside the city is that I am met with a variety of natural scenery inside the school which I don't forget to take a picture of almost every day. I don't know how long I will work in this school but at least I will keep nice photos of it. Also the smell when I get inside the playground and the morning chill are a great feeling after a half hour in buses in heavy traffic.

Monday is the day of the open market in my neighbourhood so it is a good chance to get some fresh fish (and fruit and vegetables). As my son does not really like fish we try to eat something different every week but today's catch was funny!Crabs. They were blue when alive but red when boiled. These two were fighting over a poor little fish which they did not let go even in the pan of boiling water. It went down with them! It took us two hours to eat our lunch today and it was amusing, accompanied only by my favourite cabbage, shredded carrot, celery and sweet red pepper salad.

If you live in a block of flats like me and your view is other blocks of flats you need a distraction. Mine from time to time is a colourful plant in a pot or two. I got some Narcissus and some Cyclamen, maybe the Graecum who knows, they all look the same to me!They make my little balcony more beautiful even in winter!
