Fiddler on the Roof

We attended Fiddler on the Roof in the States last summer! At Goodspeed Opera House and it was an excellent performance! You can read all about it here!
We had even waited and took an autograph from the protagonist Adam Heller!
When we heard that the same performance was coming to Greece with Greek actors and actresses we were enthusiastic and decided to go.
We walked all the way to the Music Hall.

I am so glad we decided to go!
It was an excellent performance and we loved it!
Blue velvet curtain!
As the Music Hall of Thessaloniki has got a much bigger stage it looked much richer and much more impressive!
The theatre was packed and there was a standing ovation in the end!
After the performance I really had to go and see the actors as I wanted to tell them that I had seen the same performance in the States and that I loved both!
I even showed them the photo we had taken with Adam Heller.
Both Grigoris Valtinos and Renia Louisidou were impressed by the fact that we had seen the same performance in two different countries!

I love musicals!

I walk in the gardens looking for treasure

I can't believe it's already Wednesday and I haven't told you a little bit about last week, the first week of June.
A very very old cactus I have had for year had its first flower! A good omen!
Water in my succulents!Looks like silver right?
We had a school day trip at the park.

 A juggler came to school!
We had a performance with our children's play at Lagadas and really loved the experince and the hospitality.

My brother's cactus had flowers too!
We watched the Champions League final at my brother's.
 And of course Barca won!
We went on a treasure hunt at the seafront with the Friends of the New Seafront. And guess what!We won!

Our group Irene, Themis,me, Magda and Stellina with our volunteer Fanis and our hunt manager Mata!Of course Barca helped us too!
We also had a lunch out at Athonos square with family and friends.

 How was your week?

Reading challenge 2015- May

I only read two books this month again for the Reading challenge of So little sleeping and so much reading.
First The Cave by Jose Saramago for the Nobel Prize winner Category. That was an excellent book. I bought it for half a euro at the Merimna bazaar and it was so worth it. I haven't read any other Saramago books but I hope I will. He was fantastic!
Then My dog Skip by Willie Morris for the category that includes an animal on the cover or as a protagonist! I wasn't impressed but as much as I know this has also become a movie and it might be funny to watch it.
One of my previous book photos is shown on the blog of So little sleeping and so much reading in this post.
Anyway I have already read 13 books out of the 24 I am asked to read for the readathon and I am in my 14th!I am really happy!Especially because I always read more in summer! So I am planning to finish the readathon by the end of summer!
And here is another book I found by chance in a small second hand bookstore. It's Richard Scarry's Best Story Book Ever. It is in excellent condition and I loved all the colourful pages! It will be used at school for sure!

Promoting friends work-some recent purchases (January to April)

As you can see I cannot cope much with my blog but I am willing to try.
Here are some purchases I made some months ago.
An Icaros porcelain egg cup from the neighbourhood antique store. It is broken on one part so he gave it away to me for 0.5 euro.

A woodburning Iron set from Lidl. I have plans for the summer with my driftwood.
A pair of lovely mask earrings from Efzin creations.
A lovely original from Decoasylum
I framed it in a bigger IKEA frame than the one you see here and is now at the beach house but forgot to take a picture.

I got carried away and ordered this set of sea themed figurines from ebay which is unusual for me.
I found this Karaghiozis shadow puppet print at this Greek etsy shop coocoovaya and loved it.Also got the owl pin and sent it as a gift.
I reordered the Karaghiozis in a bigger sized and framed as I have shown you in another blogpost with our framed art wall.
And then got it framed and it looks lovely!
These I had got from the Amymoni bazaar. I am not sure I had shown them.

These lovely spiders I bought from the Dans Le Lakehouse etsy shop. I follow Tanya's blog and love it. And Tanya was so sweet to give me an one for one offer which was so great!
I got this from a new shop I happened to find from Italy. It's called Vijolcenne. It's painted on a piece of wood and it's gorgeous.
You can see it on my Easter table here too.
(Yes I know that is quite an old post but I am too busy lately!)
